About Earlville.com
Earlville.com is an independent, neighbor‑run community board for the Village of Earlville, New York. It is a place to see what's happening this week, ask for and offer help, buy and sell locally, and keep up with village life. It is not the official Village government website.
Who runs it
Earlville.com is operated by Earlville Media LLC (Bill Porta), based in the Earlville area, not the municipal government, and we have no official authority. For official Village business such as water and sewer payments, taxes, permits, forms, meeting notices, and office hours, please use the official Village of Earlville site at villageofearlville.com ↗.
How it's funded
We keep the site free for neighbors to read and post. Costs are covered by modest, clearly‑labeled local services: a business directory, optional featured listings, and a small operator shop. Any paid placement is labeled as such and kept separate from community information. We do not sell your data, and we don't take a cut of neighbor‑to‑neighbor sales.
How posts are moderated
Community notes, Trading Post listings, events, and business entries are submitted by neighbors and reviewed before they go live. We screen for profanity and prohibited content automatically, and a person reviews anything flagged. We aim to keep the tone neighborly. We may edit, hold, or remove anything that is inaccurate, unsafe, unlawful, or against our Acceptable Use guidelines (linked in the site footer).
Community Helper pilot
From July 27 through August 25, 2026, we are testing a small private roster of adults who may be interested in low-risk, neighbor-to-neighbor help in public places or remotely. The interest form is private, does not create a public post or promise a role, and every proposed task may be declined.
Learn about the pilot and complete the private interest form.
Corrections & taking something down
If something here is wrong, or you'd like a post about you removed, tell us and we'll fix or remove it promptly, usually within two business days. We'd rather be corrected than be wrong.
